Among the best ways to kill time while at home is to see an excellent motion picture. Here are unforgettable, famous, timeless motion pictures that stuck in our minds and stayed in IMDB’s top 10 list for several years.

The Shawshank Redemption

It is a crime and drama American movie starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman, directed by and author Frank Darabont. Although the movie was shot in 1994, its roaring success makes the film still leading one on IMDb ranking with a rating of 9.3. Adapted from Stephen King’s novella “Rita Hayworth” and “Shawshank’s Redemption,” the movie focuses on the life of banker Andy Dufresne, who invested almost 20 years in Shawshank State Jail for supposedly killing his spouse and her enthusiast in spite of claiming his innocence.

Although it had seven Oscar elections in 1994, the motion picture stopped working to win any.

Based upon the novel of the same name by Mario Puzo, the famous film was directed by Francis Ford Coppola and starring Marlon Brando and Al Pacino. It’s the second on the list with an IMDb score of 9.2. Along With Marlon Brando and Al Pacino are James Caan, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton, and John Cazale in supporting roles.

The motion picture tells the story of an effective Italian mafia household living in New York. The movie received a great deal of attention from the moment it was released. The motion picture won three Oscars: Finest Photo, Best Actor – Marlon Brando, Best Adapted Screenplay – Francis Ford Coppola, Mario Puzo.

The 6th feature movie by cinema world’s mastermind Christopher Nolan, “The Dark Knight,” is among the most hailed in the Batman franchise. For that reason, the 2008-dated motion picture stays on IMDB’s leading 10 list with 9.0 points.

The star-studded motion picture consists of names such as Christian Bale, Heath Journal, Gary Oldman, Eric Roberts, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Bruce Wayne/Batman (Christian Bale), district attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), assistant Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal), and Police Commissioner James Gordon (Gary Oldman), fight versus the criminal activities of Gotham city and the new danger: The Joker (Heath Journal).

A few months prior to his death, Journal had actually completed filming his efficiency as the Joker. Ledger posthumously went on to win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Star.

The story starts after the closing speech where the judge in a murder trial provides directions to the jury. Under American law, the jury’s choice need to be unanimous. A decision that is not consentaneous means that the jury liquifies itself and that the case is practiced. The problem for the jury to choose is whether or not a child suspect, living in a bad location of the city, eliminated his daddy.

Schindler’s List

It is a 1993-dated American historical drama motion picture directed and produced by Steven Spielberg with 8.9 IMDB point.

In Nazi Germany throughout The Second World War, a resourceful German, Oskar Schindler, develops a factory that produces metal containers for the military and provided the capital and labor force for this company through Jews. Unable to absorb the injustice of the Jews in the future, Schindler makes a long list to save them.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

Directed by Peter Jackson and adjusted from the 2nd and third parts of J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings books, the movie launched in 2003 remains in the genre of action, adventure and drama. It is the third film in the Lord of the Rings franchise. Its IMDb rating is 8,9.

In the follow up, Gandalf and Aragorn lead the World of Male versus Sauron’s army to draw his look from Frodo and Sam as they approach Mount Doom with the One Ring.

The stars are popular names such as Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Viggo Mortensen, Liv Tyler, Sean Astin, Orlando Bloom.

It is a 1994 cult film directed by Quentin Tarantino and co-written with Roger Avary. The movie, launched in 1994, is in the crime and drama category. Its IMDb rating is 8.9.

The interwoven lives of unassociated people involved in different crimes use a hugely amusing motion picture adventure that both delights and amuses.

The motion picture won both Oscar and Golden Palm at the 1994 Cannes Festival.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

It is the first movie in the Lord of the Rings trilogy directed by Peter Jackson and was released in 2001. It is based on the very first book of J. R. R. Tolkien’s trilogy of fantasy books of the same name. Its IMDb score is 8.8.

The plot focuses on the struggle to get rid of the ring that will change the fate of the world. The last of the rings, produced several years ago and bringing absolutely nothing however blood to the lands of Middle-Earth, appears centuries after its creation.

This 1966-made Western film starring American actor Clint Eastwood is among the classics that will never be erased from the minds. Italian director Sergio Leone’s popular spaghetti western continues to affect even today’s movies and believed in movie theater schools.

The movie has to do with the story of three vagrants with different identities who deserted the notion of morality on American soil throughout the Civil War duration. These three musketeers, called Blondie, Tuco, and Angel Eyes, are in pursuit of a fortune in gold buried in a remote cemetery.
